BatteryBud 1.1.0

  • Apple Watch. A watch paired with an iPhone you’ve added now appears next to it, with its level, charging, history and alerts. The watch needs no setup. macOS may ask to let BatteryBud find devices on your local network: that’s how it reaches the iPhone over Wi-Fi for the watch.
  • AirPods stay up to date in their case. AirPods in a closed case nearby now keep reporting their levels. Before, they only updated while the case was open, a bud was out, or they were connected to this Mac.
  • Exact AirPods levels. AirPods that aren’t connected to this Mac now show exact percentages where they report them, not 10% steps.
  • iPod touch. Add one the same way as an iPhone or iPad.
  • Apple Vision Pro. BatteryBud now accepts one if macOS reports it like an iPhone. We haven’t been able to try this on a real Vision Pro yet.

BatteryBud 1.0.1

  • AirPods show up right away. Paired AirPods, Beats, keyboards, mice and trackpads that aren’t connected to this Mac now appear with the level macOS last saw, the way the Batteries widget shows them. Before, they only appeared once they connected or you opened the AirPods case nearby.

1.0

BatteryBud 1.0

The first release. BatteryBud shows the battery of every Apple device you own in your menu bar, and keeps their history.

  • Every device: this Mac, iPhones and iPads over Wi-Fi, AirPods and Beats (left, right and case), keyboards, mice and trackpads, and your other Macs on the same network.
  • Menu bar: a glance at every battery, with optional pinned items for the devices you care about most.
  • History: day, week, month and year charts, charging sessions and battery health.
  • Alerts: low battery, charged to a level, not seen for a while, and battery health.
  • Widgets: Batteries, Battery List and Battery Chart for your desktop and Notification Center.
  • Updates: BatteryBud keeps itself up to date.
  • Requirements: macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on a Mac with Apple silicon.
